Posted: 21st November 2011 by Bethany in Outings

A week or so ago, Tomas, Ethan and I along with our dear friends, Vicky, Sophie (3 years) and Audrey (9 months) went to a new splash park in the City. It was amazing! The main area of the park was set up as a braided river system where you could alter the path of […]

Happy Halloween!

Posted: 2nd November 2011 by Bethany in Outings

This year Tomas decided he wanted to be a transformer. This was a bit of a surprise since he has not seen any transformer shows or movies, but a transformer mask caught his eye and as he’s really into robots, he was sold! I thought we’d dress Tomas in some cool blue and red duds […]

On Friday, our good friend, Maddie who’s also  colleague of Mike’s took the boys and I to the Royal National Park. It’s about an hours drive south of Sydney. The boys were amazing during the car ride. Ethan slept on the way and Tomas chatted away about everything he saw out the window. We drove […]

Taronga Zoo

Posted: 13th April 2011 by Bethany in Outings

Last Sunday (April 3rd) we took the kids to the Taronga Zoo, located in Sydney, across Darling Harbour. We took the ferry there which was super exciting for Tomas who sat with me at the back of the boat and watched the wake of the ferry. We were looking forward to seeing the three baby […]

Happy Halloween!

Posted: 31st October 2010 by Bethany in Outings

This year Tomas and I dressed as skeletons for Halloween. My costume is somewhat lame with the tapped on ribs, but there are limited options for pregnant women Halloween costumes! Tomas and I had fun putting on the face paint and getting dressed up together. We didn’t trick or treat, instead we attended a friend’s […]

On Saturday, the 23rd, we joined our good friend Nelika for a trip to Cockatoo Island, located in Sydney Harbour. The Island is playing host to this year’s Biennale Contemporary Art Show. We took a ferry to the island, which I believe was Tomas’ favourite part of the trip. We spent the better part of […]

Farm Animals @ Fox Studios

Posted: 28th June 2010 by Bethany in Outings

On Saturday June 26th, Mike, Tomas and I paid a visit to one of my favourite spots in Sydney, Fox Studios. This time there was a different farm hosting animals for the kids to touch and feed. Tomas was thrilled to feed the animals a big carrot. A small guinea pig was the hungriest of […]

Kayaking at Bundeena

Posted: 19th April 2010 by Bethany in Outings

Last Saturday (April 17th), I had the pleasure of kayaking with 3 girlfriends. It was my first time sea kayaking on ocean waters and what a thrill it was! We put in at Bundeena, a village located about 30km south of Sydney on the southern edge of the Royal National Park. Bundeena is surrounded by […]

“Easter Show” at Fox Studios

Posted: 14th April 2010 by Bethany in Outings

Every Easter the Aussies put on something called an “Easter Show” which is a huge carnival with rides, games, and animals, the last of which is Tomas’ absolute favourite thing. So, we went to a small version of the Eater Show held at Fox Studios. It was quite a show, I must say. There were […]

Featherdale Wildlife Centre

Posted: 6th April 2010 by Bethany in Outings

On Sunday March 28th, we went to a wildlife centre located about an hour’s drive inland from Coogee. It was a great little centre – really geared towards children. There were wallabies, kangaroos, kookaburras, tawny owls, and emus roaming around, all of which you could hand feed using the centre’s food supplies. Koalas, crocodiles, tazmanian […]
