Announcing the arrival of our son, ETHAN MATTHEW KASUMOVIC.

Ethan was born November 1st at 8pm. He was 3.4 kilos (7.5 Lbs) and 54 cm long. Ethan came rushing into this world after only 3 hours of labour (20 minutes of pushing)! I was lucky to get to the hospital in time! There wasn’t even enough time for pain meds so the birth was au natural and let me tell you WOW it was out of this world!

It was a busy night at the hospital – 20 babies were born and so I didn’t get much attention from the midwife. She checked on me at the beginning when I was only 3 cm dilated, then didn’t show up again when I had already started pushing! Thank God for Mike, he was my only support!

I spent that night in the hospital but it was so loud with all the new bubs that I opted to leave the next day and have home care instead (where a midwife comes by to check on you and the baby). It’s been nice to be at home, although a bit chaotic as you can imagine.

Tomas has taken to Ethan so nicely. He is very gentle and always asks ‘where’s the baby’ or ‘baby come too (if we’re going somewhere)’. He even uses his toys to sooth Ethan during traumatic diaper changes! How cute is that?!
