Ethan was desperate to be  blue ninja, so we upgraded his existing ninja costume with some blue sparkly material that I had. He was very pleased!

Camping over April School Hols

Posted: 17th August 2016 by Bethany in Holidays

We went camping this April with three lovely families at our favourite spot, the Bonivale Campground in Bundeena, at the Royal National Park. Highlights of this adventure included catching crabs and taking them back to our campsite for ‘observation’ – pretty sure no crab was injured in this process, swiming, treking along the north head at Bundeena – now we know where the coastal trek goes for next time, and feeding a large hungry monitor lizard, and of course glow in the dark/head lamp adventures at night.

The coastal walk along the headlands at Bundeena. Beautiful views and beaches.

Mike’s belated birthday bash

Posted: 19th March 2016 by Bethany in Uncategorized

We hosted a 40th bday party for Mike a bit after the fact….one month later. It was a Mexican theme, so we made a variety of Mexican dishes recommended by our dear friend Damian. I ordered a slew of dried peppers for this purpose and Mike found a butcher that sold the type of steak we needed. The result of our efforts……a beautiful spread of:

1. Chicken Mole
2. Carne Asada
3. Pork Carnitas

Accompanied by toasted tortillas and all the toppings. Yummo!

We had about 27 adults attend, and about 22 children. It was a big group! The kids were so well behaved and disappeared throughout the house putting on tattoo moustaches or dancing in the garage, which we had transformed into a disco room.

We set up two long tables outside for dinner with lanterns and fairy lights hung overhead.  The kids ate first, then the adults. It was lovely.

Tomas has a purple belt (plus three stripes) in karate. On this day, Sensei Aaron had the boys spar with padding of course. It was good practice and good fun!
